Birmingham City reject bids for Jacques Maghoma

HITC Sport understands that DR Congo winger is wanted

Birmingham City have rejected two bids from an unnamed Middle Eastern club for Jacques Maghoma, HITC Sport understands.

Maghoma only joined Birmingham in the summer of 2015 when he left Sheffield Wednesday, penning a two-year deal at St Andrew's.

Gary Rowett played a major part in persuading the DR Congo international to sign with the club, but now he faces a battle to keep him at the club.

Maghoma has been one of Birmingham's star turns this season with four goals from midfield as well as a couple of assists.

His form has caught the attention of a club in the Middle East, who HITC Sport understands have already made contact with Birmingham.

Birmingham though, have so far rejected two offers as they look to keep him, and they will be desperate to do so after only just losing another of their prized assets in the shape of Demarai Gray to Leicester City.

The Blues are eighth in the Championship table at the moment with 39 points from 25 matches, just two points behind Ipswich Town, who are currently sixth and occupy the final playoff spot.
