Robbie Savage gives his verdict on Tottenham’s title chances, Lord Sugar tweets his opinion

Are Tottenham Hotspur genuine contenders for the Premier League title this season?

Former Leicester City midfielder Robbie Savage said on BBC Radio 5 live on Sunday evening that Tottenham Hotspur are “massive outsiders” for the Premier League title this season.

Savage made the comments following Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Everton away from home at Goodison Park in the league on Sunday evening.

"Spurs are massive outsiders for the title but anything other than top four challenge will be a real failure,” said the former Wales international.

Former Tottenham chairman Lord Sugar was also following the match, and he did not seem to get carried away with the North London outfit’s chances of winning the league title.

Tottenham are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 36 points from 20 matches. Mauricio Pochettino’s side are six points behind North London rivals and leaders Arsenal.

Spurs are very much in the running for the league title, but their main objective this campaign should be to finish in the top four.

With Manchester United just three points behind them in fifth, the North London outfit need to maintain their consistency and continue to pick up points.

Tottenham will take on Leicester at White Hart Lane in the league on January 13.
