Report: Sheffield Wednesday and Queens Park Rangers want Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford

Sheffield Wednesday and Queens Park Rangers are both keen to sign Chelsea's Patrick Bamford, according to reports.

Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday will launch ambitious bids for Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford in the January transfer window, according to reports in The Sun and the Sheffield Star.

Both QPR and Wednesday want to increase the strength of their attacking lines in January, and Bamford is reportedly on their radar.

The young striker is said to be keen to remain in the Premier League, but QPR and Wednesday are hopeful of convincing him to take a step down the leagues.

Bamford was expected to spend the entirety of the season at Crystal Palace, but his loan at Selhurst Park was terminated early.

The England youth international struggled to make an impression with the Eagles, but he has proven his quality in the Championship previously.

Bamford was on loan at Middlesbrough last season, and he netted 17 times in 39 appearances for the North East oufit.

Bamford would be a natural replacement for Gary Hooper at Wednesday, while QPR would be hoping to partner him with Charlie Austin at Loftus Road.
