Christian Benteke may have scored two in two, winning both of Liverpool's final games of 2015, but there still seem to be some reservations about the Belgian among the fans - that's if the reaction on Twitter is anything to go by.
Signed for £32.5 million in the summer by Brendan Rodgers, the Belgian was supposed to be the man to supply the goals and fill that bit of the void left by Daniel Sturridge whenever he is in the treatment room.
Going off the last two games, and the fact he is the top scorer for the Reds in all competitions with seven goals so far this season, on the face of it would seem the 24-year-old is starting to find some kind of form having been in and out of the side - whether that's down to form, a game plan, or injury.
But it is no secret that he can struggle to get into games and often become isolated, and despite his two match winners in the past week, there is still two big opportunities to double his tally in both games that have passed him by against both Leicester City and Sunderland.
Against Sunderland, it was a familiar story for Benteke. He struggled in the first half, took the opportunity presented to him at the start of the second half, got into the game a bit more but should've scored again.
He has been told to put himself about more by manager Jurgen Klopp, and he thinks there is more to come.
Some fans remain unconvinced but there are others that seem content with him simply winning football matches for the club. Here is a sample of what has been said on Twitter in reaction to his performance against the Black Cats:
Benteke hates one on ones and open goals.— LFCZA (@LFCZA) December 30, 2015
Benteke not overly impressive but when he plays he does tend to score. Has quality. The more games for him the better.— Jack Sear (@JackSear) December 30, 2015
Last one on Benteke. Yes he needs to move more, but definitely is no Carroll. That's 3 winners now and goals at Old Trafford/S Bridge too!— Anfield Talk (@Anfield_Talk) December 30, 2015
Benteke reminds me of Heskey when he has time to think in front of goal— LFC Sacramentö (@LFCSacramento) December 30, 2015
Benteke is has to improve on his shooting he is bad at 1v1. Missed one against Leicester and Sunderland. Sturridge would not miss that.— addygerald (@addygerald) December 31, 2015
Benteke. Scored a goal. Thanks for that but poor performance. He actually doesnt understand when and where to make runs. Thats a big issue— Shadab Monjur (@Liverpool_World) December 31, 2015
