Troy Deeney sends heartwarming message to Watford fans on Twitter

Watford lost in the Premier League on Monday afternoon.

Watford striker Troy Deeney has taken to social networking site Twitter to send a heartfelt message to the fans.

Deeney sent the message following Watford’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur away from home at Vicarage Road in the Premier League on Monday afternoon.

Argentina international attacker Erik Lamela put Tottenham in the lead in the 17th minute, and Odion Ighalo restored parity for the home team four minutes before the half-time interval.

Son Heung-min secured the three points for the North London outfit when he found the target in the 89th minute.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Vicarage Road, Watford, who ended the game with 10 men, had just 37% of the possession, took nine shots of which only one was on target, and earned five corners.

Watford are eighth in the Premier League table at the moment with 29 points from 19 matches, six points behind fourth-placed Manchester City, who have a game in hand.

Quique Sanchez Flores’s side will return to league action on January 2 when they take on City at Vicarage Road.
