Rangers are poised to bolster their attacking options by signing Doncaster Rovers midfielder Harry Forrester on a free transfer, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Rangers boss Mark Warburton is keen to add to his squad in next month's transfer window as he looks to aid his side's bid for promotion and he has lined up a move for Forrester.
Warburton is a big admirer of Forrester having worked with the player during his time at sporting director at Brentford before he became manager at Griffin Park.
Forrester is out of contract at Doncaster at the end of the season and he is set to terminate his contract by mutual consent early to let him leave on a free transfer.
The 24-year-old has made just nine appearances for Doncaster this season and having not figured since October he does not figure in Darren Ferguson's long-term plans.
Rangers have moved quickly to agree a deal for former Aston Villa youngster Forrester and the attacking midfielder is set to be the first of several new faces at Ibrox in January.
Rangers ended an indifferent run of form on Monday with a 4-2 win over Hibernian to move three points clear at the top of the Scottish Championship.
