Manchester United are among a number of clubs keeping tabs on highly-rated Everton midfielder Joe Williams, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Williams has come through the ranks at Everton since joining the club at the age of seven and he is highly regarded within the corridors of power at Goodison Park.
Everton are understood to have already rejected a £1million bid from a Championship club for Williams this summer.
The 19-year-old has yet to make his first-team debut for Everton, but he has been a standout performer for the club's under-21s for the last couple of seasons, winning academy player of the year last term, and he has captained the side this season.
Williams, who has just 18 months left on his current contract, is keen to establish himself in Roberto Martinez's first-team plans in the next 12 months, but should he continue to find his path into the senior side blocked he could be forced to move on.
Manchester United are thought to be monitoring Williams' situation as they are long-term admirers of the all-action midfielder having tried to sign him when he was just 11.
A number of other Premier League clubs are tracking Williams and are ready to move for him should he opt to leave Everton.
