The Frenchman is wanted by Lille.
Reports in France are suggesting that Newcastle United could be willing to sell one of their players for as little as €800,000 (£585,000).
The player in question is Frenchman Yoann Gouffran, who has suitors from England and in his French homeland.
France Football is reporting, as relayed by Get French Football News, that French side Lille are keen on the player in January to improve their squad.
The report also claims they are looking at Morgan Amalfitano of West Brom and West Ham past as he remains a free agent after leaving the London club earlier this season.
Gouffran joined Newcastle from Bordeaux in a cut-price deal in 2013 - so selling him at that price is not likely to come at a huge loss to the club.
Gouffran has played just five times under the management of Steve McClaren and has also been linked with moves to the Championship recently.
His last goal for the club came in a 3-0 win against Hull City in January and he has recently become a more deeply operating midfielder - as opposed to the forward he was when he came to Newcastle United.
