Paul Clement confirms Abdoul Camara is on Derby County's radar

Derby County are interested in Guinean international attacker Abdoul Camara.

Derby County manager Paul Clement has confirmed to the Derby Telegraph that Angers forward Abdoul Camara is on his side’s radar.

The Derby Telegraph have suggested that Camara could be a target for the Rams in the January transfer window, and Clement did little to quash the rumours when asked about the striker this afternoon at his press conference.

"He is a player we are aware of," Clement said, reportedly with a telling smile on his face.

Camara has made 17 appearances for Angers so far this season and he has impressed. The 25-year-old, who is capable of playing up front or out wide, has netted twice to date.

Camara’s form has threatened defences across France, and helped Angers become one of the surprise packages in Ligue 1.

Derby have made an excellent start to the season, but Clement is determined not to rest on his laurels and wants to add further quality to his group.

Camara would increase Derby’s attacking options, and will be competing with the likes of Andreas Weimann, Johnny Russell and Tom Ince for a place in Clement’s line up, if he does move to the iPro Stadium.
