Hull City youngster Chuba Akpom issued an apology to supporters and his manager after reacting angrily when substituted in the win over Reading.
The 20-year-old reared petulantly, shaking his head and throwing his gloves to the floor after being taken off in the 2-1 win.
The score was locked at 1-1 when Steve Bruce took him off, and it was for his own good after he had confronted Reading's Danny Williams after a mistimed tackle.
Akpom commented on Twitter after the game to apologise for his actions.
Hard fought win tonight. Let a lot of people down with my reaction, sorry to the fans, staff and club. Emotions got the better of me— Chuba Akpom (@cakpom) December 16, 2015
Hull went on to win the game thanks to a 90th minute goal from Jake Livermore, to keep their promotion push moving in the right direction.
The England under-21 striker has scored just three goals in 21 league games for Hull, 14 of them starts.
