Tony Fernandes tweets Charlie Austin ahead of QPR v Brighton

The chairman has put the onus on the Queens Park Rangers striker.

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes has tweeted Charlie Austin ahead of tonight's game with Brighton in the Championship - demanding goals from the striker!

Indeed, Austin posted about getting a haircut and Fernandes cheekily responded by 'hoping' that means goals for the 26-year-old.

QPR head into the clash 13th in the Championship table, with Brighton top - 15 points ahead of the west London club.

Austin may have mixed feelings about Fernandes' post! It's always nice when a boss puts the onus on his star employee but it also adds that little bit of extra pressure.

Brighton, of course, are unbeaten so far this Championship season and are enjoying an absolutely superb campaign. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, though, would love to end that run during one of his first few games as QPR manager. That would set a great precedent.

But whether Austin can score is another matter. The R's man is a quality striker and that's exactly why Chris Hughton will no doubt have his players trying to man mark the 26-year-old out of the game.

Do you see Austin scoring for QPR against Brighton?
