HITC Sport understands Wycombe Wanderers goalkeeper Matt Ingram is a target for a number of clubs in January.

Wycombe Wanderers are bracing themselves for interest in highly-rated goalkeeper Matt Ingram, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

The 21-year-old is earning himself a reputation as one of the best keepers in the Football League, and clubs higher up the football pyramid have been alerted to him.

Ingram kept 15 clean sheets last season as Wycombe reached the League Two play-off final and he has maintained his fine form this season, keeping nine clean sheets in 21 games.

The 6ft,3in stopper has come through the ranks at hometown club Wycombe and has made over 125 appearances for the Chairboys.

Ingram is entering the final 18 months of his current deal and his suitors are ready to test Wycombe’s resolve to hang on to the talented custodian when the transfer window reopens next month.

The likes of West Ham United, Hull City and Nottingham Forest are all thought to be admirers of Ingram and are weighing up moves for the keeper in January.

Wycombe are reluctant to lose Ingram as they look to maintain their push for promotion, but they are expecting interest in their key asset from several clubs.
