Lucas Joao has been recognised for his excellent form for the Owls during November.
Sheffield Wednesday striker Lucas Joao has seen off competition from Leeds United's Alex Mowatt and Andreas Weimann of Derby County to win the PFA Fans' Player of the Month award for November, Sky Sports reports.
The 22-year-old started just one game for Carlos Carvalhal's side during the month. But it was two of his performances from the bench that would have surely won him the award.
Against Huddersfield Town, the Portugal international scored twice as the Owls came from a goal behind to clinch a 3-1 win, before he bagged a late equaliser one week later against Blackburn Rovers.
His form helped put Wednesday in the play-off mix, and staked his claim for a more regular place in the starting line-up.
Both of his rivals for the November award got on the scoresheet on one fewer occasion than Joao. Weimann scored the only goal of the Rams' victory over Queens Park Rangers, before helping to seal a win over Cardiff City with Derby's second.
Similarly, Mowatt was able to register one of his best performances of the month against the Welsh side. His stunning strike settled that game, before he scored another rocket as Steve Evans' men beat Huddersfield Town 3-0 in their next fixture.
