James Perch gives his opinion on Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's appointment at Queens Park Rangers

Queens Park Rangers have named Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as Chris Ramsey's successor.

James Perch has been quoted by Queens Park Rangers’ official site saying that he feels Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will be an excellent appointment for the club.

Hasselbaink was announced as the new QPR boss last week, after the club identified him as their first choice replacement for Chris Ramsey.

And Perch believes that the former Burton Albion boss will be a success at Loftus Road.

It’s exciting,” Perch said. “We’re interested to start learning what he is about. He’s done very well with Burton.

“I think it is a great appointment. He’s young and fresh with new ideas and he leaves Burton top of their league after getting promoted so he’s doing something right.

“Hopefully he can come in and do the same for us.”

QPR spent a long time deliberating over who they should appoint after sacking Ramsey, but Hasselbaink was always said to be their first choice.

The former Chelsea striker inherits a QPR squad that should be full of confidence, too, as they have won frequently in recent weeks.

Neil Warnock did an excellent job during his time in charge, and he hands the baton over to Hasselbaink after guiding the R’s to a 1-0 win over Reading.

Hasselbaink is yet to take a job of such magnitude as the QPR one, but his initial time in management has been impressive.

The 43-year-old took Burton from League Two to the top of League One, and he will be hoping to be similarly successful at QPR.
