Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink agrees to take reins at QPR

HITC Sport understands that Queens Park Rangers have reached a verbal agreement with the Burton Albion boss.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has agreed to take charge of Queens Park Rangers, HITC Sport understands.

The former Dutch international was sounded out by Rangers earlier this week before an official approach was made late on Tuesday.

HITC Sport understands that Hasselbaink has already verbally agreed to take over the reins at Loftus Road, which were vacated by Chris Ramsey a number of weeks ago.

Neil Warnock has been in caretaker charge, but Hasselbaink is to be appointed ahead of their game with Reading on Thursday - but it would appear unlikely he would take control of team affairs for the match at the Madejski.

Hasselbaink leaves Burton Albion top of League One following their promotion from League Two last season and they will now be looking at their next appointment having now lost their last three managers to clubs from higher up the footballing ladder in the shape of Nigel Clough, Gary Rowett and now Hasselbaink - although some reports have claimed that they could come full circle and return to Clough - who is currently out of work after leaving Sheffield United late last season.
