Leeds defender Liam Cooper comments ahead of Hull clash

Leeds United will face Hull City at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds United defender Liam Cooper has told The Yorkshire Evening Post that his side have nothing to lose against Hull City this weekend.

The Whites will take on Hull at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

“This is the Championship,” Cooper told The Yorkshire Evening. “We’re at home, we’ve got the home advantage and we’re looking forward to it as much as they are.

"We’ve got nothing to lose and we know what performances we’re capable of.”

While Cooper, who started his professional career at Hull, is right in highlighting Leeds’ home advantage, he is wrong in stating that they have nothing to lose.

Leeds have three vital points to lose. Having lost their last two Championship fixtures, Steve Evans’s side need to win the game against Hull.

Hull, who got relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season, are fourth in the league table at the moment, just three points behind leaders Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Tigers will head into the clash at Elland Road as favourites, but Leeds need to step up their game and try to win the match.

Cooper’s comment that the Whites have nothing to lose against Steve Bruce’s team is bizarre, as this is a game that they need to win.

With over 20,000 fans cheering them on, the Leeds players need to give their all and make the most of the home advantage.
