Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp discusses what he wanted to do instead of football

Dr Klopp

Kinda think Jurgen would be a bit like Dr Nick from the Simpsons...

We've always wondered what footballers and managers would be doing if they weren't living the dream – even if they don't play in the top division.

Got to wonder if Sir Alex Ferguson would've made a great scary head teacher, or Tim Sherwood a dodgy nightclub promoter.

But can you imagine what Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp would be doing? You can only really picture him playing bass in a punk band, can't you?

Well, it turns out that the German had a different plan, which in the end didn't exactly go to plan. Klopp was quoted by the Guardian as saying: “A doctor, originally. I think I still might have ‘helper syndrome’ to a certain extent.

“But I’m not going to lie, I don’t think I was ever smart enough for a medical career. When they were handing out our A-Level certificates, my headmaster said to me: ‘I hope it works out with football, otherwise it’s not looking too good for you’.”

We're pretty sure that Liverpool fans will be happy that Klopp wasn't clever enough to become a doctor, as he's enjoyed a pretty good start to life on Merseyside.

The German has already picked up a victory over Chelsea and a very impressive 4-1 thumping of Manuel Pellegrini's Manchester City.

Could you seriously imagine Jurgen Klopp as a doctor? That really would be something!
