Ola Toivonen and Fabio Borini both react on Twitter after Sunderland beat Crystal Palace

Sunderland picked up a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park yesterday.

Sunderland duo Ola Toivonen and Fabio Borini have both praised their teammates on Twitter after watching them pick up a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace last night.

Toivonen was left on the substitutes’ bench at Selhurst Park, while Borini was missed out on the match with injury.

However, neither appeared too concerned that they were not involved in the contest after the match, as Sunderland picked up such an important result.

The Black Cats defended rigidly throughout the match, as they defended in numbers and thwarted Palace’s attacking threat.

The Eagles couldn’t find a way past Costel Pantilimon, and when Alan Pardew’s men did make a mistake Sunderland capitalised.

Jermain Defoe scored the only goal in the fixture late on, as Sam Allardyce’s side took a big step towards safety.

Sunderland are now in 18th place in the Premier League table, and they could move out of the relegation zone if they are able to win at the weekend.
