West Ham were well beaten by Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Sunday, losing 4-1 to their rivals.
Starting striker Andy Carroll struggled to make an impact, managing just one shot on target, while substitute Nikica Jelavic did not even offer that.
The Hammers could very easily have had an alternate in their line-up, who would have been a big distraction for Tottenham to deal with.
Spurs attempted to sell Adebayor to West Ham in the summer, with Hammers boss Slaven Bilic telling London24 he spoke to the striker for over an hour on transfer deadline day.
Adebayor was subsequently released from his Spurs contract - and West Ham's interest subsided, and the striker remains a free agent.
He is currently in Africa... with his very own personal DJ.
He posted: "Chilling time with my personal Dj (@djboto). If you are planning an event in Togo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Congo, etc... He is the right man, and he's always ready to make the audience move."
For Tottenham yesterday's fixture could not have gone any better, and knowing their luck in recent seasons, Adebayor lining up for the Hammers would have turned the result against them.
For that alone they should be pleased Slaven Bilic could not convince the striker to sign, while West Ham supporters can only wonder if the Togo international could have may any sort of difference.
