Carlos Carvalhal confirms three Wednesday players are set to return to training

Sheffield Wednesday have a number of players making their way off the treatment table.

Both Barry Bannan and Michael Turner are set to return to Sheffield Wednesday this week, according to Carlos Carvalhal’s comments on the club’s official site.

The pair were both forced to watch from the sidelines, as the Owls beat Huddersfield Town 3-1 at the weekend.

However, it seems that their return to fitness is not far off, with Alex Lopez and Modou Sougou also returning to full health.

“Everything is ok, we will recover some players and we believe that Bannan and Turner will be back to the training this week,” he said.

“We have recovered other players also, Modou Sougou was back on the bench on Saturday and Alex Lopez will be back this week too.”

Bannan picked up his injury during Wednesday’s match against Charlton Athletic before the international break, and his return will be very welcomed.

Turner’s comeback has also been eagerly anticipated – as he has been out of action since October.

The returning players further strengthen a Wednesday squad, which is already packed with quality.

The Owls are currently lurking just outside the play-off spaces, and their next fixture comes against Blackburn Rovers at the weekend.
