West Ham win was Tottenham’s best performance, enthuses Harry Kane

The striker says he will be punching himself after he missed a chance to secure his hat-trick.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Harry Kane said Tottenham's 4-1 win over West Ham was the side’s best performance this season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were in impressive form on Sunday afternoon, as they dominated proceedings at White Hart Lane.

It continued their fine form and the result has now taken them to 12 games unbeaten in the league and within touching distance of the top four.

They have been most impressive in recent weeks, with this result coming after a top display against Arsenal before the international break, a game they were unfortunate not to win.

Kane though, says that the emphatic win over the Hammers was their best performance of the season so far.

“That was probably the best performance we have had this season,” he told Sky Sports.

“The whole week training has been incredible and we just tried to put that out on the pitch. We came out of the traps flying.”

Kane proved key to the 4-1 win, as he bagged two of his side’s four goals in the game.

It has been a fine return to form for the striker, who had initially struggled to replicate last season’s form at the beginning of this campaign.

He did however miss a glorious chance in the first half when he found himself one on one, and says he will be punching himself that he didn’t get his hattrick.

"As a striker when your confidence is high you feel like you're going to score every game,” he added.

“Today I could have had a couple more, but the most important thing is we're winning by playing well. I'll be punching myself that I didn't get the hat-trick."
