Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino speaks about Dele Alli's versatility

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder helped his side to another win this weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the BBC after his side overcame West Ham United 4-1 at White Hart Lane.

Harry Kane was the star of the show with a brace, while Toby Alderweireld and Kyle Walker netted Tottenham’s other goals, but Pochettino reserved special praise for teenager Dele Alli after he again impressed despite his tender age.

Alli has become a regular starter for Tottenham since he arrived from MK Dons and after excelling for England last week the future looks very bright for the player.

After his side moved to within two points of fourth-placed Arsenal, Pochettino told the BBC, “Dele Alli can play like a number 10 or a central midfielder; he feels comfortable in both positions, depending on the plan we have.”

That versatility stands him in very good stead as he bids to become one of the most important players for both Tottenham and ultimately England.

Alli certainly has all the attributes to become a footballing superstar but Tottenham fans may be wary of putting too much pressure on him too soon.

Whatever the future holds, Pochettino clearly trusts the youngster to do whatever is asked of him for the good of the team.
