Sheffield Wednesday's Forestieri was superb in win over Huddersfield, fans agree

Sheffield Wednesday defeated Huddersfield Town 3-1 at Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday playmaker Fernando Forestieri put in one of his best games of the season as he helped his side come from a goal down to defeat Huddersfield Town 3-1 at Hillsborough.

The Owls headed in the game looking to bounce back from their defeat at Charlton last time out, a loss which snapped an impressive nine-game unbeaten Championship run.

Fellow Yorkshire outfit Huddersfield were not going to be easy pushovers, and the Terriers were on course for all three points as they took the lead early in the second period.

However, Wednesday ace Forestieri was on a mission to help his recover and he contributed greatly to a late three-goal blitz which completely turned the game on its head.

As per the table provided by Opta Stats, Forestieri was superb throughout and his efforts finally paid off towards the end as striker Lucas Joao netted two goals to complete a remarkable turnaround.

Forestieri, a summer signing from Watford, obvious has plenty of pressure on his shoulders after becoming one of Wednesday’s biggest transfer for quite some time but he is rising to the occasion.

On Saturday, he produced two telling assists in the final stages while also contributing with four shots, two key passes, three successful take-ons and an impressive five ball recoveries.

His teammates have clearly identified the ability in which he possesses, illustrated by the fact he took as many as 46 touches of the ball throughout and completed 20 accurate passes.

Writing after the game on Twitter, Wednesday fans were delighted with the three points and singled out Forestieri for praise as some still can’t believe how they’ve managed to acquire such a good player.
