Ray Wilkins responds to Matt Ritchie speculation

West Ham United, Manchester United, Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion are all reportedly interested in Bournemouth winger Matt Ritchie.

Former Aston Villa assistant manager Ray Wilkins suggested on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning that Matt Ritchie should remain at Bournemouth.

The Scotland international winger has been in superb form in the Premier League so far this season.

A number of established Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for the 26-year-old, but Wilkins has suggested that he would like Ritchie to remain at Bournemouth.

“I would hate to see him go,” said Wilkins on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning.

“A) Would he play consistently in a top-level side? I don’t know. B) Bournemouth need him immensely.”

According to The Daily Mail, West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City, West Ham United and Manchester United are all interested in Ritchie.

The former Swindon Town star has show his creativity and pace, and it is not a surprise that a number of clubs are reportedly monitoring him.

One suspects that it would be tempting for Ritchie to switch clubs in January, but he would be better off remaining at the Vitality Stadium until next summer.
