Alli highlights Pochettino's greatest qualities; music to the ears of Tottenham fans?

Dele Alli has heaped praise on his Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has told The Guardian that working under Mauricio Pochettino is 'obviously really good' for him.

Alli, 19, came up through the ranks at Milton Keynes Dons alongside Everton's Brendan Galloway and Liverpool's Sheyi Ojo, and after a superb first half of last season, Tottenham swooped to snap him up in the January transfer window.

Spurs did send Alli back to Milton Keynes for the rest of last season, and having helped Karl Robinson's men achieve promotion to the Championship, Alli began his Tottenham career over the summer.

Whilst there were some fans who believed Alli could be the latest young star to thrive at White Hart Lane, few could have really expected him to have enjoyed such a remarkable start to life in the Premier League.

Alli has established himself as a regular in the Tottenham team, and his impressive displays have now handed him a call-up to the England squad, and his stunning long-range goal in the win over France on Tuesday night showed just how talented the teenager is.

Much of his rise to stardom is down to Tottenham boss Pochettino, who helped develop the likes of Danny Rose, Nabil Bentaleb, Ryan Mason and Harry Kane last season, with Alli and Eric Dier now becoming the latest young talents to emerge under his tutelage.

Ahead of this weekend's game with West Ham United, Alli has spoken to The Guardian about his Spurs boss, and highlighted some of the Argentine's best qualities - all of which have helped him become such a key player at White Hart Lane already.

"He’s a great manager and he puts a lot of trust in young English players," said Alli. "It’s a great thing for English football. It’s a great platform for the club and it shows what we’re about.

"He’s a great guy, really passionate, and he cares about the players. If you’ve got any problems he’s always there for you. I can already tell that from the short time I’ve been there. He puts a lot of trust into youngsters which is obviously really good for me," he added.

Alli's comments will certainly please Tottenham fans, who are enjoying a superb season under Pochettino so far - and they have to hope that no other clubs come calling for his services in the near future, given the remarkable project he is developing at White Hart Lane.
