The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder will reportedly make this weekend's squad against West Ham.
Indeed, the Algerian midfielder has been out with injury recently but returned to action for his country this week and Mauricio Pochettino will reportedly include him in the squad that travels to Upton Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Standard don't suggest anything along the lines of a Bentaleb start but a return to the bench looks likely for the 20-year-old.
The question, of course, is whether the youngster can find form now that he has the likes of Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Mousa Dembele and Ryan Mason all ahead of him in the Tottenham pecking order.
Bad days happen for anyone, though, and Bentaleb will likely be forgiven if he shows dedication and form in training.
The problem, however, is the increased competition the 20-year-old now faces. He'll have to put in a few shifts for Tottenham if he is to somehow overhaul the current first-choice midfield setup.
