Joe Hart backs Raheem Sterling to set the world alight in future

The Manchester City goalkeeper says the talented forward is not affected by the pressure put on him.

Reported by Sky Sports, Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has backed his club colleague Raheem Sterling to set the world alight in future.

The former Liverpool man is one of the hottest properties in Europe, having risen quickly through the ranks at Anfield, and impressing for England on the international stage.

He is now at City, with a raft of top talent around him, with many expecting they will help to take his game to the next level, and Hart has backed him to become a global superstar.

“He is an excellent player, a really good person,” Hart told Sky Sports.

“He is someone who has at least 10-15 years left in football and to set the world stage alight," added the goalkeeper.

Pressure never shows on Sterling

The City keeper also says that the youngster never allows the pressure to get to him, despite his young age.

The forward came in for fierce criticism this summer for rejecting a new big-money contract at Liverpool, making it clear that he wanted a move to a bigger club - as covered by the BBC.

That opportunity came when City spent big to secure his services, making him the most expensive English player of all time.

With that price tag on his head, the pressure is firmly upon him to perform week in, week out, but Hart says he never allows that expectation to impact on his game.

"Raheem never shows that the pressure from City or England supporters is getting to him,” Hart added.

"It was a tough time in the media and from the outside before his move but he was perfectly fine and very excited to start his new chapter at Manchester City. He has coped with it really well.”
