Gary O'Neil reacts on Twitter to West Ham return, jokes about rude fan chant

The Norwich City midfielder took to social media after coming on as a late substitute against his former side.

Gary O'Neil enjoyed some good times at Upton Park as a West Ham United player.

So his return to the east London side in their last season at the famous ground probably didn't provide as much of a thrill, considering the Norwich midfielder came on in the 85th minute and saw his side surrender a 2-1 lead late on.

But the former West Ham man was still delighted to return to his former hunting ground and appreciated the reception from the home fans.

And the 32-year-old took to Twitter after the game to joke about a particular gesture of gratitude - a rather rude song from supporters!

The Hammers have started the season brilliantly overall, sitting third in the Premier League table, although the draw with the Canaries leaves them with just one win in four at home.

Norwich, too, are going well and - one poor set-piece aside - O'Neil's current side may well have left his old one with a 2-1 win.

Next up for West Ham is a trip to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland, while Norwich host Leicester City.
