Arsenal talent Stephy Mavididi scores fifth goal in fifth game this season - Does he have a first-team future?

The 17-year-old is in scintillating form this season.

Arsenal’s under-21s took on their Wolverhampton Wanderers counterparts yesterday, coming out of the game with a 3-2 win.

The win came courtesy of goals from three of Arsenal’s top young talents. Chris Willock and Alex Iwobi scored the first and last of their goals – with Stephy Mavididi scoring the second goal.

The England youth international forward has impressed at the club for the past few seasons but this campaign it looks like he is set to really set pulses racing.

The 17-year-old has come out for the new campaign like a bat out of hell. The goal against Wolves was his fifth goal for the under-21s this season, in just five games at that level.

Following on from his 12 goals in 13 for the Arsenal under-18s last term and he is certainly gaining a reputation as one of the more ruthless young strikers in the country.

The Derby-born teenager is now boasting a goalscoring record at this level similar to that of Benik Afobe and Chuba Akpom in the past and will surely have his eyes on the first-team within the next few seasons, especially with the opportunities Arsene Wenger tends to give young players.
