Liverpool media round-up: Henderson travels to USA, Sturridge not ready just yet

A selection of the latest stories in the media involving Liverpool Football Club this Tuesday morning.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has flown to United States for further treatment on a heel injury, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Henderson has missed the last three games with the problem after he was substituted during the 1-0 win over Bournemouth during the second game of the season, and hasn't featured since - with the skipper's absence being sorely felt since.

The report says that he is not to undergo surgery though the problem is causing him discomfort on his heel and the sole of his foot but doctors have so far been unable to put a timescale on his return to action.

However, Adam Lallana could return for Liverpool this weekend having returned to training following a thigh injury that has kept him out of the past couple of games.

The Europa League clash with Bordeaux on Thursday may come too soon for Lallana with the Premier League encounter at home to Norwich City on Sunday a more realistic time to return.

The Daily Mail reports that Daniel Sturridge is still working his way back to fitness after he returned to full training at the end of last week.

However, he will not be part of the squad for the trip to Bordeaux as he continues to recover from the hip surgery he underwent at the end of last season.
