Alan Sugar reacts on Twitter to Jermain Defoe's performance, jokes about Heung-Min Son

The former Tottenham Hotspur chairman discussed the Sunderland striker on social media, among others...

Alan Sugar was - you guessed it - in pessimistic mood as Tottenham beat Sunderland on Sunday afternoon.

And he wasn't the only one for 75 long minutes, with the north London side and the Black Cats doing their best to match Manchester United and Liverpool in terms of the worst game of the Premier League season.

Things perked up both for Sugar and Tottenham fans towards the end, as Ryan Mason netted a winner for the visitors at Sunderland.

But Jermain Defoe had a great chance to open the scoring in the first half, hitting the post for the hosts - and Sugar promptly laid into him on Twitter.

It seems the man himself couldn't make his mind up, though, as he later called Defoe the 'best player on the pitch.'

He then criticised a number of Tottenham men - including boss Mauricio Pochettino - before joking about new £22 million, fee as reported by the BBC, signing Heung-Min Son:

In the end, Sugar praised substitute Andros Townsend but expressed sympathy for Sunderland, as he felt Tottenham's narrow win was an undeserved one...
