Leeds United boss Uwe Rosler praises Massimo Cellino and his Serie A record

The German has been speaking about his new boss at Elland Road.

Uwe Rosler has been discussing his relationship with Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino. The Italian has been a controversial figure at Elland Road since his takeover and is certainly a divisive figure among the Leeds United faithful.

The German has been speaking to the BBC this week and insists that Celllino knows his stuff - despite making some questionable signings at Leeds United, including some very poor players from Italian football.

Rosler stated:

“Very knowledgeable about football. A person who leads a football club for 30 years and in Serie A he must have knowledge about players, knowledge about leading a football club and that is how he came across to me.

“Yes it is [my reputation is on the line] of course. But I think it is like a marriage. You know you have healthy discussions, and it is about, you give and you take, you give and you take.”

He certainly makes a point regarding his Italian experience. Cellino may be known for chopping managers at the drop of a hat and his enigmatic personality but he has proved himself in Italian football.

He worked wonders with Cagliari, taking the club to the top flight in Serie A and then keeping them there for several seasons despite expectations.

This season Cellino appears to be staying out of first-team affairs more than he did last season, when he saw Dave Hockaday, Darko Milanic and Neil Redfearn out of the club and was suspended by the Football League.

Rosler will be hoping to pick up a win against his former club Brentford today to keep his trigger happy boss happy.
