Lord Sugar reacts to Raheem Sterling's performance, compares to Tottenham's record signing

Former Spurs chairman was disappointing with the Manchester City star's performance for England, comparing him to Erik Lamela.

Raheem Sterling featured for England from the start as the Three Lions kept their 100 per cent record in Euro 2016 qualification alive.

The Three Lions have already secured their place at next year's tournament in France, but their 2-0 win over Switzerland last night was more efficient than playing with the shackles off.

Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney scored the goals in a 2-0 win, while Sterling is still seeking to add to his one and only strike for the Three Lions.

The Manchester City winger was criticised during the second half by former Tottenham chairman Lord Sugar, who felt he was not productive enough.

Sterling did not have a single shot on the night, but did create three goalscoring chances for his teammates, second only to James Milner, who made five key passes.

Sugar went onto insist Sterling reminded him of Tottenham's record signing Erik Lamela, who has struggled for consistency over his first two seasons with the north London side.

He went onto add that he felt Manchester City had been haphazard with their spending this summer, splashing out big money to sign Sterling from Liverpool.
