Former West Ham United manager Harry Redknapp has explained that he’s been impressed by the impact of Dimitri Payet.
Former West Ham United manager Harry Redknapp told talkSPORT that he’s been specifically impressed with one of the club’s summer signings; Dimitri Payet.
Payet signed on the dotted line following a move from Marseille earlier in the summer and has taken to life in the Premier League like a duck to water.
He’s got a style which makes him popular with the supporters and Redknapp has also suggested that the club got value for money with the £12 million they paid for him, as reported by the Daily Mail.
“Payet looks like a real good player, he looks like a fantastic player especially for what they paid for him,” he told talkSPORT.
What’s helped Payet to be effective?
Payet isn’t the most imposing of players and one of the worries manager Slaven Bilic is likely to have had over the player is the idea that he could be bullied out of possession.
However, he seems to have a strong core strength and has extremely quick feet which allows him to dodge challenges and hold his own when someone does look to lean into him.
Bilic has also protected him well in terms of the players he’s got around him and he seems to be thriving with confidence to really push on and make a difference for the club over the coming months.
