Report claims Tottenham and Everton both hopeful of completing permanent Lennon deal today

Could the Tottenham Hotspur winger be on his way to Everton again...this time for good?

According to Sky Sports News both Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are hopeful of completing a deal to take Aaron Lennon back to Goodison Park before the transfer window closes this summer.

We are just hours away from seeing the proverbial door slam shut but the Spurs winger is said to be sitting tight in the hope of a late deal being completed.

The 28-year-old spent last season on loan at Everton where he featured 14 times, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the process.

While those figures did not exactly set the heart racing, Lennon’s work-rate during his temporary stint at Everton was a joy to behold and he quickly became a fan favourite among Toffees supporters.

The latest from Sky Sports News is that Lennon remains hopeful of completing a permanent deal from Tottenham for a fee in the region of £4.5million.

With Spurs said to be willing to let him go and Everton allegedly ready to pay up, it seems only a last-minute glitch will prevent the player from bidding a permanent farewell to White Hart Lane this evening.
