The Barcelona star was named Uefa Best Player in Europe last week and showcased the accolade to the club’s fans yesterday.

Barcelona attacker Lionel Messi flaunted his Uefa Best Player in Europe award to the Camp Nou crowd yesterday before the team’s 1-0 win over Malaga.

The Argentine beat fellow Blaugrana attacker Luis Suarez and perennial personal rival Cristiano Ronaldo to the prestigious accolade last week after a stunning start to 2015.

As can be seen above, Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta was also on hand to present the Uefa Super Cup trophy, which the men in blue and red won against Sevilla in Tblisi recently.

Messi was in sublime form as the Catalan giants recorded a momentous treble last season, with the gifted attacker captivating the football world in his role for Barcelona.

The Blaugrana have an enviable strike trio of Messi, Suarez and Neymar, with the Argentina international the undoubted star of the team.

Thomas Vermaelen got the goal to keep Barcelona’s 100 per cent La Liga record intact, Messi coming close on a number of occasions but failing to get one over visiting goalkeeper Carlos Kameni.

The 28-year-old is yet to score this season but is the frontrunner to be crowned the 2015 Ballon d’Or winner, which would be the star’s fifth time of winning the individual award.
