Report: Derby County and Wolves interested in loan deal for Adam Forshaw

The Middlesbrough midfielder is wanted by Derby, Wolves and Brentford.

Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Forshaw is reportedly a transfer target for Derby, Wolves and Brentford, according to the Daily Mail.

The 23-year-old has found himself out of Aitor Karanka’s first-team XI this term, and all three of their Championship rivals are keen on bringing him in on a loan deal for the season.

However, Karanka is not keen on letting the midfielder leave on loan, even though he has not started a game this term. He has been utilised as a substitute in four of five fixtures, and is seen as a valuable squad member, rather than a guaranteed starter for Boro.

The midfielder used to play for Brentford, and they are keen to bring him back to the club, whilst Derby boss Paul Clement sees the attacking midfielder as a good replacement for the injured Will Hughes.

Wolves are the final team stated in the report as showing an interest in Forshaw, but with all three teams expected to be fighting for promotion with Boro, Karanka is sure to reject any offers from them.

It remains to be seen whether Forshaw himself will push for a move away if he is not guaranteed football at the Riverside, but a move to any three of the interested clubs is sure to be viewed negatively by the Boro management.
