Celtic were 3-2 winners in the first leg of their Champions League play-off against Malmo, but face a nervy return leg in Sweden.

Celtic were involved in an epic clash as they take a slender lead to Sweden for the second leg of their Champions League play-off thanks to a 3-2 win at Parkhead.

The Hoops got off to the perfect start and were two goals up inside 10 minutes, a stark contrast to last season’s play-off which saw a pretty mundane performance see them crash out of the competition to Maribor.

Leigh Griffiths showed great composure to give the Scottish champions the lead before Nir Bitton doubled the home side’s lead with a header from close range.

It looked as if Ronny Deila’s side could take a comfortable lead into the second leg but were undone by a familiar face in Jo Inge Berget as some slack play from the home side allowed the visitors to benefit.

But Griffiths restored their two-goal lead just after the hour mark with a looping header and it looked as if Celtic would be taking a pretty strong lead into the second leg, only for Berget to strike home from close range in stoppage time, meaning that a nervy return leg could be in prospect when the two sides meet again on Tuesday.
