Trevor Sinclair and Don Hutchison react on Twitter to Joey Barton reports

Joey Barton is reportedly on the radar of Premier League outfit West Ham United.

Trevor Sinclair has taken to social networking site Twitter to have his say on reports that West Ham United are set to sign Joey Barton.

According to BBC Sport, the former Manchester City and Newcastle United midfielder will have a medical with the Hammers imminently.

Barton will join West Ham on a free transfer, having left Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season following their relegation from the Premier League.

Former West Ham winger Sinclair believes that the 32-year-old will be a good signing for Slaven Bilic’s side and has given his take on the matter on Twitter:

Former West Ham midfielder Don Hutchison has also taken to Twitter to comment on the prospect of Barton playing for the Hammers this season.

Barton is a controversial figure, and one suspects that West Ham fans will be divided on the matter.

However, the 32-year-old still has the passion and has shown commitment wherever he has played in his career.

The Englishman’s combative qualities on the pitch and his leadership ability off it could prove to be important for West Ham this season, as they chase a top-eight finish in the Premier League.
