Hearts, Blackpool and Wigan chasing Assyriska's Jens Jacobsson

HITC Sport understands that the Swedish midfielder may be sold this summer as he approaches the end of his contract.

HITC Sport understands from sources close to a potential deal that Wigan Athletic, Hearts and Blackpool are chasing Swedish midfielder Jens Jacobsson of Assyriska.

The 25-year-old is out of contract in January and his current employers may be tempted to cash in now rather than lose the player on a free in the New Year.

Wigan and Blackpool have been busy this summer attempting to restructure their ranks following relegation into League One.

If they are to bounce back into the Championship at the first time of asking, then they will need squad depth and proven quality.

Hearts, meanwhile, are back in the Scottish Premiership and have ambitions of making an instant impression back in the top-flight – with their campaign opened with a thrilling 4-3 victory over St Johnstone last weekend.

Jacobsson has spent his entire career to date in his homeland, but the opportunity to try his luck in British football may be too good to turn down, while Assyriska face a big decision on the future of a saleable asset before that choice is taken out of their hands.
