Spurs player ratings: Chadli superb but wasteful Mason outshone by Carroll

How Tottenham Hotspur's players rated during their 2-0 win over AC Milan.

Luke McGee - 7/10 - The young goalkeeper produced a good save from an Alessandro Matri shot and did well overall, although he wasn't tested all that much.

Kieran Trippier - 7.5/10 - Got involved a lot and kept hitting the byline, knocking the ball into the side netting during the second half. Assisted Tom Carroll's goal.

Federico Fazio - 6/10 - Had very little do but made a decent header late on.

Jan Vertonghen - 6/10 - Like Fazio, had extremely little to do. Will have to be ready for a lot tougher opposition in the Premier League.

Ben Davies - 6/10 - A quiet but steady performance from the Welshman, with very little to report of note.

Eric Dier - 6/10 - Was taken off having not had much to do but will have valued the run out ahead of the new league campaign.

Nabil Bentaleb 6/10 - Made a clumsy first-half challenge but was steady for the rest of the encounter.

Josh Onomah - 7/10 - Made lively runs against the slow Milan centre-backs. Was always bursting forward but is still rough around the edges.

Erik Lamela - 6/10 - Set up Carroll well at one stage but was largely flat, which hopefully isn't a sign of Copa America fatigue going into the new season...

Tom Carroll - 7.5/10 - Another great performance from the midfielder who scored Tottenham's second after half-time. Was also always pressing - Mauricio Pochettino may have plenty of use for him this term.

Nacer Chadli - 8/10 - Actually looked too good to even be on the pitch. Was Spurs' playmaker, delivering great crosses and scoring a superb opening goal.

Kevin Wimmer 6/10 - Got a second-half runout and didn't have much to do.

Ryan Mason - 5/10 Despite only coming on late on, the midfielder was wasteful as always and was completely outshone by Carroll, one year his junior.

Harry Winks - 6/10 - Was given a few minutes late on.

Hugo Lloris - 6/10 - The Frenchman came on in the end! An encouraging appearance as it means the Tottenham shot stopper is in contention to face Manchester United

Deli Alli - 6/10 - Another late entrant, the youngster will be pleased to have been handed another run out.

Mousa Dembele also came on very late on.
