Liverpool transfer news: Lambert exit, Balotelli offered alternative league and Coates on leaving Anfield

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool

As reported by the BBC, striker Rickie Lambert has completed his move from Liverpool to West Bromwich Albion for an undisclosed fee.

The 33-year-old had a disappointing spell at Anfield and with Danny Ings and Christian Benteke arriving this summer it is no surprise the England international has moved on.

Lambert becomes West Brom’s third signing this summer and after scoring a brace on his debut just hours after signing he already looks like a very canny acquisition.

In other news, ESPN reports that Liverpool forward Mario Balotelli has been offered another potential escape route from Anfield, this time to Qatar.

The Italian’s time in England could well be coming to an end give his poor form last season and Al-Arabi coach Gianfranco Zola has hinted that a move to the country would be good for the controversial front-man.

And finally, former Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates has been speaking to the Sunderland Echo about his decision to leave the club this summer.

The Uruguay international is now a permanent Sunderland player and he could not be happier, saying, “It was an easy decision to come back because I know the manager, my teammates, the club and the supporters.”
