Barcelona legend Xavi tips Pep Guardiola for Camp Nou return

The veteran midfielder has stated that the Bayern Munich boss will end up back in Catalunya when the time is right.

Barcelona legend Xavi has stated that former boss Pep Guardiola will end up back at the Catalan club when the time is right, as per the Al Sadd official website.

The La Masia graduate left Camp Nou this summer to join the Middle Eastern outfit, ending a career’s affiliation with the Blaugrana.

Some of Xavi’s most successful years at Barcelona were under Guardiola’s stewardship, who managed the club for four years.

The now Bayern Munich boss left his boyhood club in 2012 having won 14 trophies in the space of four years, including two Champions Leagues and three La Liga titles.

Guardiola’s departure was his own decision and largely down to the pressures of managing a club the size of Barcelona - but Xavi has tipped his former boss to return to the Catalan side one day.

"I enjoyed a very successful period with Pep at Barcelona and I know he'll choose the right moment to return to the club,” Xavi told the Al Sadd official website.

Guardiola was a fans favourite as both a player and coach at the club and was replaced by Tito Vilanova upon his departure.

Luis Enrique matched Guardiola’s achievements in his debut campaign as the club’s boss last season, winning a momentous treble just as the Bayern boss did in 2007-08.
