The Swans are reportedly the favourites to snap up the former Napoli star.
Swansea City are reportedly keeping tabs on Galatasaray midfielder Blerim Dzemaili, according to a report in Italy.
Tutto Mercato Web are reporting that The Swans are in pole position to bring the former Bolton Wanderers midfielder back to England this summer.
The Swiss international left Napoli last summer for Turkish football but has struggled to establish himself in Istanbul – playing just 11 times in the Turkish Super Lig. The Turkish giants have recently signed Reading midfielder Jem Karacan and Dzemaili is deemed to be surplus to requirements.
The midfielder, who has previously had spells with Parma and Torino, has been linked with a move back to Italian football. However, the insistence of Serie A clubs on taking him on loan is not going to float with Gala. The Turkish side want a sale, which has reportedly made Swansea the favourites to snap him up.
Swansea currently have the likes of Ki Sung-Yeung, Jack Cork and Leon Britton who can play in his position, so signing Dzemaili may seem slightly like overkill.
But he can also play at the back and is a quality operator. If the price is right than it could be this opportunity has simply fallen into Garry Monk’s lap and he has decided to take it.
