Derby County investor indicates more big signings could be on the way

Derby County investor Brett Wilson told supporters to wait for more good news as they haven’t finished in the transfer market yet.

Following the confirmation that Burnley captain Jason Shackell had agreed to join Derby, Brett Wilson told Derby County fans over twitter to wait for more good news as the club aren’t finished in the transfer window just yet.

The Canadian Dragons Den investor is a popular figure among Derby fans for his eccentric attitude and passion for the club.

Last season, he was seen a number of times at the iPro Stadium sporting his ‘lucky Poncho’, as reported by the Mail, and put in a lot of face time with supporters.

Following the chairman change, in which Candy Crush supremo Mel Morris replaced Global Sports Entertainment owner Andy Appleby, the role of the investors was cast into doubt.

Nevertheless, following his latest tweet, Wilson seems to be as enthusiastic as ever about the club’s chances of promotion to the Premier League this coming season.

With Chris Baird, Scott Carson, Darren Bent, Tom Ince, Alex Pearce, Andreas Weimann and Shackell already signed up, Rams fans would be forgiven for thinking that would be their lot. However, the Canadian’s tweet indicates that to be far from the case.

Any more big signings coming in could make the Rams the team to beat next season, as they are already joint-favourites with Sky Bet for the Championship title.
