The 22-year-old forward started the pre-season friendly game against Braga at the Estadio da Nora Ferreiras, Albufeira and played until the 79th minute.
The former Northern Ireland Under-21 international was always a handful and caused problems for the Braga defence throughout his time on the pitch.
Lavery came close to scoring for Wednesday 10 minutes before the half-time interval and found the target midway through the second half.
The youngster came close soon after before being taken off, as the Owls suffered a 2-1 defeat.
Lavery is one of the better young players in the current Wednesday squad and will be important to the team’s chances of a top-six finish in the Championship next season.
The 22-year-old scored two goals and created eight chances in 13 Championship appearances last season.
The youngster had a pass accuracy of 64% and a shot accuracy of 22%, and won 21 headers, six dribbles and six tackles.
Following the game against Braga, Wednesday fans took to Twitter to have their say on the performance of Lavery.
