West Ham United transfer round-up: Playmaker transfer set to be completed

A selection of the latest news concerning West Ham United.

As reported by the Mirror, West Ham are set to finalise a move to sign Manuel Lanzini on a season-long loan from Al Jazira Club in the UAE.

The former River Plate playmaker will sign a deal until the end of the 2015/16 season, with the option for the Hammers to sign him permanently when the campaign finishes.

He adds further attacking depth to Slaven Bilic’s side, with Dimitri Payet already signed to provide a creative threat.

Whilst one deal is close, another Premier League club have entered the race for one of the Hammers’ targets, with Leicester City keen on signing Islam Slimani from Sporting CP.

TMW report that both clubs are vying for the Algerian striker, who has been linked with a move to the Boleyn Ground for many months. He has been a long-term target for the East London side, and they are set to push forward with their interest in the coming days to ensure a deal can be completed.

Finally, the Hammers could be looking to reunite Bilic with one of his former players, Veli Kavlak.

According to Sporx, Bilic wants to sign Besiktas midfielder Kavlak this summer, as he looks to add further depth to his midfield selection. Primarily a ball-winning player, the Austrian would bring strength and leadership to a midfield already stocked with such traits.
