Report: Derby County defender Raul Albentosa wanted by former club SD Eibar, but deal could be complicated

SD Eibar are interested in re-signing Derby County defender Raul Albentosa.

According to Spanish publication El Diario Vasco, SD Eibar are interested in re-signing Raul Albentosa from Derby County just six months after losing the defender to the Rams in the first place.

The report states that Albentosa is a target for the La Liga club, but a deal between the two sides could be complicated.

In January, the Spaniard paid off his own contract at Eibar to force a move to Derby, as reported in the Derby Telegraph, and it is thought the Rams are not ready to give up on the defender despite trouble settling in.

Should the Rams look to sell Albentosa?

The 26-year-old’s time in England has been blighted by injuries, but a promising performance in Paul Clement’s first game has given supporters hope that he can still be a success.

Clement, who can speak fluent Spanish following his time at Real Madrid, will be the perfect coach for him in England and could help him produce the same impact he had in La Liga, this time for Derby.

If the East Midlands club do look to move Albentosa on, it wouldn’t be a surprise. However, it could be worth giving him six more months before passing final judgement.
