Celtic transfer round-up: Rival reportedly won’t be pressurised, duo leave on loan

All the latest transfer rumours related to Scottish Premiership champions Celtic

Nadir Ciftci interest

Dundee United will not be pressurised into selling Nadir Ciftci to Celtic this summer, according to The Daily Record.

According to the Scottish newspaper, Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are expected to make a third bid for the forward, having seen their first two attempts turned down.

Ciftci’s agent, Pierre van Hooijdonk, was recently quoted as saying by the paper that the 23-year-old would fancy a move to the Bhoys this summer, but United will reportedly not let him leave for cheap.

The Daily Record claims that United will sell Ciftci to Celtic only if the terms are right for them.

Duo leave on loan

Meanwhile, Alloa Athletic have signed Connor McManus and Michael Duffy on loan from Celtic, as reported on Spfl.co.uk.

Midfielder McManus has joined Danny Lennon's side until the end of the season, while striker Duffy has moved on an initial six-month deal.

Charlie Mulgrew contract talks

Charlie Mulgrew has told The Scottish Sun that he wants to remain at Celtic for the foreseeable future.

The 29-year-old, who has 12 months left on his current contract with the Hoops, said: “We’ve had a chat. I spoke briefly to Peter and the manager.

“I am happy here. I’ve been back for five seasons now. It probably is hard to see myself anywhere else. I haven’t thought along those lines.”
