Classic N64 title to get highly anticipated Wii U release.

Legend of Zelda is probably Nintendo’s biggest franchise outside the Mario games and Ocarina of Time is recognised as one of it’s greatest titles.

Fans of the series too young to have caught it the first time around have been buying up old N64 consoles for years just to play the legendary game. But now Nintendo have announced that the game will be heading to Wii U this July, opening up the game to an all new audience as well as fans.

Nintendo Europe made the announcement on Twitter and the release date is unexpectedly close, coming to the console this Thursday 02nd July.

Legend of Zelda was originally released back in 1998 and has since become a fan favourite. In the game our intrepid hero Link sets out on a quest to stop Ganondorf, King of the Gerudo tribe, from obtaining the Triforce, a sacred relic that grants the wishes of its holder. Link travels through time and navigates various dungeons to awaken sages who have the power to seal Ganondorf away forever.

This promises to be a very popular release for Wii U virtual console and no doubt a whole new generation of fans will be falling in love with franchise just as we have over the years.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be release on Wii U Virtual Console 02nd July 2015 for 1000 Wii points, approximately £7.
